Hey Superfiters its Friday and its the end of the week. Lets end it right with a good ol' fashion amrap. Today I'm going to put out an online challenge. the challenge is to list 10 things your grateful for. You can respond on the comments below, write it down in your notes/journal or even say it to yourself. Here's mine. I'm grateful to have a job I love and am passionate about, helping change peoples lives, having a great girlfriend who loves and supports me, having loving friends and family, having great clients who come in everyday and give their best, being healthy, growing and learning everyday, having a healthy dog and finally I'm thankful for having a great 2011 and looking forward to an even better 2012 !

As most Crossfiters I'm not super into bodybuilding but that's not to say that its still not awesome or admirable. Its not what I want to do with my body but its still hard and when done right its so amazing to see what these guys can do. If you haven't heard of Kai Greene this is a great video. He has a great mental attitude and I think this is how we should all approach the day. Weather its Crossfit or whatever your passionate about in your life you should do it to your fullest and truly enjoy it and also be grateful for it. We all Have so much to be grateful for and at times we all forget that. Don't forget that you all work hard every time you come in here and your doing something that a lot of people are too afraid to even try. Great work everyone, keep it up and keep on rockin'

Inspirational post
I have question for all of you Superfiters. Why are you working out ? Do you ever ask yourself that question. Is it for you, your health, your loved ones ? Chances are its one of those reasons. I want to let you all know Im really proud of all of you for coming in and busting your ass every day. Being healthy is hard and I know it. Its hard for all of us but its an investment. An investment in ourselves. Your reward is feeling better, looking better and living a longer healthier life. And I know its hard to be on a paleo diet or whatever diet we may be on. I know making the healthy choice whenever you eat is a hard thing to do but we do it and thats why were Superfit. I read this story this morning and wanted to share it with you. So if you get a chance read it and watch the video. So next time you say to yourself I dont feel like working out or its hard or whatever self doubt you may have remember this story and come to the gym and invest in yourself ! Have a great weekend everyone !
This is a story about a man named Dick Hoyt
Eighty-five times he's pushed his disabled son, Rick, 26.2 miles in Marathons. Eight times he's not only pushed him 26.2 miles in a Wheelchair but also towed him 2.4 miles in a dinghy while swimming and Pedaled him 112 miles in a seat on the handlebars--all in the same day.
Dick's also pulled him cross-country skiing, taken him on his back Mountain climbing and once hauled him across the U.S. On a bike. Makes Taking your son bowling look a little lame, right?
And what has Rick done for his father? Not much--except save his life.
This love story began in Winchester , Mass. , 43 years ago, when Rick Was strangled by the umbilical cord during birth, leaving him Brain-damaged and unable to control his limbs.
"He'll be a vegetable the rest of his life;'' Dick says doctors told him And his wife, Judy, when Rick was nine months old. ``Put him in an Institution.''
But the Hoyts weren't buying it. They noticed the way Rick's eyes Followed them around the room. When Rick was 11 they took him to the Engineering department at Tufts University and asked if there was Anything to help the boy communicate. ``No way,'' Dick says he was told. ``There's nothing going on in his brain.''
"Tell him a joke,'' Dick countered. They did. Rick laughed. Turns out a Lot was going on in his brain. Rigged up with a computer that allowed Him to control the cursor by touching a switch with the side of his Head, Rick was finally able to communicate. First words? ``Go Bruins!'' And after a high school classmate was paralyzed in an accident and the School organized a charity run for him, Rick pecked out, ``Dad, I want To do that.''
Yeah, right. How was Dick, a self-described ``porker'' who never ran More than a mile at a time, going to push his son five miles? Still, he Tried. ``Then it was me who was handicapped,'' Dick says. ``I was sore For two weeks.''
That day changed Rick's life. ``Dad,'' he typed, ``when we were running, It felt like I wasn't disabled anymore!''
And that sentence changed Dick's life. He became obsessed with giving Rick that feeling as often as he could. He got into such hard-belly Shape that he and Rick were ready to try the 1979 Boston Marathon.
``No way,'' Dick was told by a race official. The Hoyts weren't quite a Single runner, and they weren't quite a wheelchair competitor. For a few Years Dick and Rick just joined the massive field and ran anyway, then They found a way to get into the race Officially: In 1983 they ran another marathon so fast they made the Qualifying time for Boston the following year.
Then somebody said, ``Hey, Dick, why not a triathlon?''
How's a guy who never learned to swim and hadn't ridden a bike since he Was six going to haul his 110-pound kid through a triathlon? Still, Dick Tried.
Now they've done 212 triathlons, including four grueling 15-hour Ironmans in Hawaii . It must be a buzzkill to be a 25-year-old stud Getting passed by an old guy towing a grown man in a dinghy, don't you Think?
Hey, Dick, why not see how you'd do on your own? ``No way,'' he says. Dick does it purely for ``the awesome feeling'' he gets seeing Rick with A cantaloupe smile as they run, swim and ride together.
This year, at ages 65 and 43, Dick and Rick finished their 24th Boston Marathon, in 5,083rd place out of more than 20,000 starters. Their best Time? Two hours, 40 minutes in 1992--only 35 minutes off the world Record, which, in case you don't keep track of these things, happens to Be held by a guy who was not pushing another man in a wheelchair at the Time.
``No question about it,'' Rick types. ``My dad is the Father of the Century.''
And Dick got something else out of all this too. Two years ago he had a Mild heart attack during a race. Doctors found that one of his arteries Was 95% clogged. ``If you hadn't been in such great shape,'' One doctor told him, ``you probably would've died 15 years ago.'' So, in a way, Dick and Rick saved each other's life.
Rick, who has his own apartment (he gets home care) and works in Boston, and Dick, retired from the military and living in Holland, Mass. , always find ways to be together. They give speeches around the country and compete in some backbreaking race every weekend, including this Father's Day.
That night, Rick will buy his dad dinner, but the thing he really wants to give him is a gift he can never buy.
``The thing I'd most like,'' Rick types, ``is that my dad sit in the chair and I push him once.''
And the video is below....

Rest Day
Hey Superfiters ! Nice work yesterday that was a hard workout. Id like to say thanks for the people that came in (Jolene and Wendy) i know others are sick and injured. But thanks for sticking it out. Also id like to say thanks for the new people coming in and training (Eric, Christian, Toby) You guys are pushing it and doing your best to get ready for the Oregon Winter Games. its going to be a tough one so we need to be as prepared as possible. a HUGE part of working out is diet and recovery. Dont forget to eat your small 3-6 Paleo meals a day plus your recovery shakes. Were doing 2 wods a day sometimes so we really need to be on our diet. also stay on top of your water and rest. all these things are important when training for a competition. And also for those who are using them take your vitamins ! especially the ones who are on the Usana, that'll give you an extra edge of recover and nutrients your going to need ! Again thanks for coming in and thanks for pushing me and yourselves ! see you all today !
When skateboarding is just too easy. talk about balance and coordination huh !?!?

Friday
Whats up superfiters ! Its Friday and today's going to be a great day ! We have a 3 rounds workout in store for us today. It'll be tough but worth it at the same time. i wanted to take this time to say thank you all for coming in 3 times a week and giving your all. This got me thinking and i just wanted to share my thought with you all. We've been told that all men are created equal. i don't really believe that. Not in a bad way but just in the sense that some people are just better at some things than others. Weather its being physically gifted or book smart or whatever the case may be. But there is one thing that's equal for every human being on this planet and that's time. So i want to say thank you for spending time coming to Crossfit and being healthy. Thanks for all your hard work and perseverance. See you all tonight !

A little quick info on multi vitamins
In general, a good daily multivitamin/mineral supplement improves your overall bodily functioning and boosts both your physical and mental health and well-being. Sometimes supplementation with specific nutrients may be more appropriate in order to address any individual specific needs. For example, CoQ10 is especially helpful for those at risk for heart disease, and Vitamins C and E, taken in combination to help ward off Alzheimer's disease. A multivitamin supplement usually contains the recommended daily dose of a variety of vitamins and other nutrients. Sometimes, multivitamin supplements are formulated for specific age groups, or individual conditions such as pregnancy. Multivitamins also are at their most efficient when they are in liquid form, as the body has been proven to absorb them five times more efficiently than multivitamins in pill form.
